About GetYTMP3
What GetYTMP3 is, who builds it, and how the downloader works under the hood.
What this is
GetYTMP3 is a free online video downloader. You paste a link, we read the qualities the platform publishes, and you pick the one you want. It runs entirely in the browser — there is no app to install, no extension to approve and no installer bundled with anything else.
How it works
When you submit a link we ask the platform for its list of available streams, exactly as its own player would. You choose a resolution, and our server fetches that stream. For high-resolution video, where picture and sound are published separately, we download both and merge them into one playable file before handing it to you.
What we do not do
We do not ask for your password on any video platform, we do not post or like anything on your behalf, and we do not sell personal data. We cannot reach private, deleted or region-locked content, and we do not try to get around a platform's access controls.
Intended use
GetYTMP3 exists for saving your own uploads, content you have permission to keep, and public domain or openly licensed material. Redistributing someone else's work without permission is on you, not on the tool, and we expect users to respect copyright and each platform's terms.
